The founders of Misele Safaris met through their work together on a startup non-profit in Tanzania benefitting orphaned children and rural communities through education empowerment. Our passion and commitment is undiminished as we are enabled through the profits of Misele Safaris to expand sustaining health and education projects.
Misele’s philanthropic goals are not to provide handouts, but to provide capacity building to local communities.
We don’t want to artificially stimulate local economies, but to provide support for long-term growth through promoting higher education, training for local business people, and empowerment of communities through health promotion. We do this by providing financial and strategic support to local organizations that we identify as key change makers.
Our Travel with a Purpose Project involves you, our travelers, to have the option to give back.

Pack One for the Road
Plan for some extra room in your luggage to help bring books, toothbrushes, toys, clothes, and bandages for different organizations working with orphaned children, HIV positive children, and street children.

Off the Beaten Road
Have the unique opportunity to step off the well-traveled roads with Misele guides and staff to meet Tanzanians who live in rural villages or city slums. Experience and hear from a first-person perspective what life is all about from some of the most impoverished, but most resilient, dignified, and generous people in this world. Our hope is that you share these stories to others when you leave your trip, and help spread the spirit of giving.

Tell us what causes you are interested in supporting and learning about, and we can match you with an organization. We’ll help to schedule visits with innovative centers and meet with some of the hardest working individuals committed to the betterment of women, children, families, and students.
